New Year’s greetings to all Members!

Tennis activity is back in full swing at Leopardstown. We had exactly 32 players for the Irish Coffee tournament on 27 December 2011 for which we had excellent weather!

Attached below is an outline of tennis events for 2012. We are introducing a MIXED FRIDAY tournament on the LAST FRIDAY in every month.

The Winter League is about to start and we have 3 Ladies and 3 Mens teams entered.

Following a very successful 2011 Club Championships and finals night on Friday 7th October, we congratulate all competitors and thank you for your participation.  Particular congratulations to those of you who have made it into the Hall of Fame for 2011.  Click on the link below for a list of the Club Champions for each category.

The Club Championships are taking place from – Saturday 17th September to Friday 7th October 2011 (Finals Night & Party).

PLEASE READ THESE COMPETITION RULES:
Matches must be played by the assigned deadline or forfeited (see each competition draw) The Team or individual on top part of the draw will be awarded the match. In the event of difficulty arranging a match please contact one of the following –

The 2011 draw has now taken place and you may commence your matches.  Thank you for participating and good luck to you all!

Please arrange your own matches by contacting your opponents.  There are specific instructions regarding number of games and completion dates etc. on each draw.   In the event of a dispute or are unable to arrange a match please contact Sandra McGarry 086 0830134.

Following the success of the Junior Mentoring Programme from March to June earlier this year thanks to the help of parents and the participation of the children, we are delighted to be re-commencing the Junior Mentoring Programme on Sunday 28th August.  The times for this term has changed slightly (4-5.30pm & 5.30-7pm – see below).

This is fun tennis and socialisation for junior members.

It will take place every second Sunday until the end of  October.  The dates for your diaries are:

Sundays: 28th August, 11th September, 25th [...]

Adult Coaching is re-commencing for the Autumn Season on WEDNESDAY 14th SEPTEMBER.

Dave Cooney and his team are going to run the following coaching sessions:

->  Beginners  -  Weds 7pm to 8pm

->  Intermediate / League Players – Weds 8pm to 9pm

->  Ladies Clinic – Weds 9am to 10am

Each course will last 6 weeks and costs €60 per member (€85 for non-members.)

Junior Coaching commences on Monday 5th September with Dave, Gillian and Cormac, Mondays and Tuesdays with more experienced players coaching taking place on Wednesdays.  It is good value for money, with each course of 12 weeks equating to less than €10 per session.
Junior Coaching Autumn Term 2011 and return to Dave Cooney.

2011 Junior Club Championships Saturday 3rd September to Saturday 17th September (Finals Day).  Girls and Boys Singles & Doubles U10, U12, U14 & U16.  Mixed Doubles U16 only.  €5 per event entry.  Applications to be put in Club postbox (on wall beside noticeboards) by Wednesday 31st August.
